PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve multicast routing calculation with minimum number of links configured with a multicast tree.

SOLUTION: The multicast routing calculation method determines calculation order of receiving nodes, determines a receiving node / searching node to be calculated first, calculates the number of hops and the total cost from the searching nodes, and determines routing from the receiving node to a transmission node or from the receiving node to a tree already established so as to minimize the number of hops. When the number of hops is equal between two paths, the method determines routing so as to minimize the total cost from the searching nodes.
