PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a piping length measuring system for measuring the piping length of each type by automatically recognizing the types of various piping drawn in a CAD construction drawing composed of vector data, without relying on changes to CAD software or manual operation. SOLUTION: A computer 10 has a CAD program for drawing lines using vector data. Various piping is drawn as lines using CAD, and from a plurality of stored drawing data layers where the piping is drawn in the CAD data stored in the computer 10, the difference between each layer and the CAD data immediately before the piping was drawn is obtained to extract piping data in the CAD data. From the piping data extracted, the characteristic figures of the various piping (hot-water, cold-water, gas piping, sewer) are extracted and piping identification information is given to the piping figures. Breaks in the lines in the CAD data of the various piping are recognized from the piping data and the lines before and after the breaks are connected.
