PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To achieve a compact contour vibrating piece by reducing degradation of oscillation characteristics due to supporting or securing of an oscillator and enhancing impact resistance. SOLUTION: The contour vibrating piece 10 comprises a columnar oscillator 20 made of an isotropic material, a piezoelectric thin film 30 formed on the end face 21 of the oscillator 20, and electrodes 31 and 33 for exciting the piezoelectric thin film 30 wherein the end of the oscillator 20 performs contour vibration in an oscillation mode corresponding to a plurality of input excitation signals of specific frequencies. The part other than the contour vibration region is a non-oscillating supporting region where the contour vibrating piece 10 is supported and secured. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
