PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a rubber composition for covering a cord which is environmentally friendly and prepared for depletion of petroleum supply amounts in future, and further can improve adhesivity with a cord, and a tire having a carcass and/or belt using the composition. SOLUTION: This rubber composition for covering a cord comprises 5-20 pts.wt. of carbon black relative to 100 pts.wt. of a rubber component comprising natural rubber and/or epoxidized natural rubber, and silica.
