PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sheet feeder, in which design change of a sheet cassette is easy, and a lift plate drive unit of a complicated constitution need not be disposed on a main body of equipment, achieving excellent universality and low cost. SOLUTION: The image forming device 1 as the equipment is provided with the sheet feeder 20 at a lower part of the main body 2. The sheet feeder 20 is provided with the sheet cassette 20 that is drawable from the main body, and a lift plate 24 on which sheets P are loaded to be displaced by the lift plate drive unit 50 to a sheet feeding position. On the sheet feeder 20, a guide unit 23 provided with a guide rail 27 for the sheet cassette 21 is disposed between the sheet cassette 21 and the main body, and the lift plate drive unit 50 is provided in the guide unit 23. Therefore, the lift plate drive unit 50 needs not to provide on the main body, and parts cost and production cost can be reduced. Design change of the paper cassette 21 can be freely carried out in accordance with the housing capacity, size, or kind of the sheets P, thereby universality is improved. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
