The unit has a wheel bearing (4) supported by a wheel hub (1) that is formed as a hollow shaft. A form closure is accomplished between the hub and the bearing such that the closure is pressed at a hollow cylindrical end section of the hub through cold forming against front side of bearing inner rings. An articular outer race (3) has a drive journal comprising a radial shoulder axially arranged against and firmly connected with the flange. The unit is inserted below and connected with an open wheel carrier over connecting flanges (24) at a bearing outer ring (7) by mechanical fastening units.
