An image display apparatus is provided to prevent an auto lift up phenomenon of a monitor when the inclination angle of the monitor exceeds a predetermined angle. A monitor outputs an image. A stand assembly supports the monitor on the floor. A hinge assembly includes a rotation shaft rotating at a predetermined angle on the upper end of the stand assembly. A connecting block is connected to the rotation shaft of the hinge assembly. A head mount(43) is coupled to the rear surface of the hinge assembly. The head mount(43) is slidably coupled to the connecting block. An elastic member has the first end coupled to the connecting block and the second end coupled to the head mount to support the load of the monitor with an elastic force. A locking unit includes a cam(71), a cam follower(72), the first rack gear(73), and the second rack gear(74) to restrict the sliding movement of the monitor for the connecting block. |
