<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the number of transmission lines of a serial transmission system for a multichannel audio signal from increasing, even when the number of channels of the audio signal increases so as to prevent transmission from being interrupted before or after a change point, when the transmitted audio signal varies in the sampling frequency or changes in the number of channels. <P>SOLUTION: Data include the sampling frequency and the number of channels to be transmitted as properties of audio data, and a clock to be transmitted is changed, according to the sampling frequency and the number of channels to be transmitted. Consequently, the multichannel audio signal can be transmitted without increasing the number of signal lines, and transmission having no soundless period, before or after the sampling frequency is varied is realized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
