OPTICAL INFORMATION RECORDING SYSTEM AND OPTICAL INFORMATION RECORDING MEDIUM

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical recording medium which enables a recording head consequently the whole recording system to be simplified by using the same light source to all treatment, as an optical information recording medium of a rewritable type utilizing a photochromic compound and to provide an optical information recording system having the same.

SOLUTION: The optical information recording system has at least the optical information recording medium and the light source and permits writing, reading and erasure. The optical information recording system is characterized in that the optical information recording medium has a recording layer containing at least the photochromic compound and a substrate having a metal layer, and that the substantially one light source is used.
