<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To attain reduction of power consumption while achieving large capacity of a memory, and to make the power consumption constant. <P>SOLUTION: The memory includes a plurality of memory blocks arranged to be symmetrical to one another. Also, by a specific combination of signals among address signals to be supplied to the memory, a memory block including a memory cell to be the object of data reading or writing is uniquely specified. Further, signals to be supplied to other memory blocks than the above memory block is maintained at a constant value. Consequently, the wiring length of a bit line in a memory array is shortened and load capacity is reduced, and at the same time, the current consumption can be made constant in data reading or writing from/to memory cells of a variety of addresses within the memory. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT</p> |
