PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for connecting fire resisting belts and a device used for it, wherein a single worker can work by himself for connecting the fire resisting belts. SOLUTION: Respective ends 11a, 12a of fire resisting belts 11, 12 are bent along the width direction and laid on each other into which a staple 20 is driven with a connecting device 13 so as to joint them together. The connecting device 13 is composed of a base 40 on which a housing member 41 and a pushing-out member 42 are pivotally supported. The housing member 41 includes a staple-housing space 48 for housing staples 20 and a staple-pushed-out hole 49 from which the staple individually passes through. The pushing-out member 42 includes a pushing-out piece 51 for pushing the staple 20 out from the staple-pushed-out hole. A first and a second operating members 43, 44 are provided respectively on the base 40 and the pushing-out member 42.
