PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To select a person in a still image content and to directly originate a telephone call or transmit e-mail thereto. SOLUTION: When storing and controlling a still image content in a memory, a controller extracts a face image of a person in the still image content and this face image is compared with face images of users registered on a telephone directory within the memory. When a user with a matching face image is detected from the telephone directory, a linking process is performed to link the face image of the person in the still image content with personal information, such as a telephone number or an e-mail address, of that person registered on the telephone directory. When the still image content is displayed and a desired person is selected, a telephone call is automatically originated to the telephone number of the selected person or an e-mail creation screen with the e-mail address of the selected person being inputted is displayed.
