PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an antenna system whereby excellent reception sensitivity can be obtained over a wide band without affecting the downsizing and the gain. SOLUTION: The antenna system 1 is configured by mounting a chip antenna 2 onto a circuit board (e.g. antenna board) 3 arranged with transmission lines 8, 9, a high frequency changeover switch 10, and a bias circuit 11 or the like. First and second radiation conductors 5, 6 with different electric length are wound on a base body 4 of the chip antenna 2, one-side ends of the conductors 5, 6 are connected together, variable capacitance elements 7 are dispersed to each of the radiation conductors 5, 6. A low band mode for resonating the whole of both the radiation conductors 5, 6 can be selected by conducting an input terminal 10a of the high frequency changeover switch 10 to an output terminal 10c, and two kinds of high band modes for individually resonating each of the radiation conductors 5, 6 can be selected by conducting the input terminal 10a to an output terminal 10b. Further, the tuning frequency can be changed in any band by applying a tuning voltage from the bias circuit 11 to the variable capacitance elements 7. COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT
