In a fuel cell vehicle, a drive circuit (A) of an electric motor (3) and a fuel cell stack (1) are connected via a relay (9). A secondary battery (5) is connected to the drive circuit (A) via a DC/DC converter (7). A controller (40) controls the DC/DC converter (7), when the fuel cell vehicle starts to operate, to cause a voltage (Vdcdc) of the drive circuit (A) to become substantially equal to a voltage of the fuel cell stack (1) and then closes the relay (9). This processing prevents an excessively large amount of electric current from being extracted from the fuel cell stack (1) due to voltage difference between the fuel cell stack (1) and the drive circuit (A), thereby preventing deterioration of an anode (32) of fuel cell stack (1) due to a hydrogen deficiency. |
