<p>The invention relates to imaging systems, in particular those comprising an array of imaging tiles. Existing systems suffer from areas of low-resolution in areas at the edges and between adjacent imaging tiles, due to the existence of inactive regions of tiles that are not capable of detecting incident radiation, causing a loss of information. In embodiments of the present invention, imaging tiles are arranged in a matrix form, a first of the imaging tiles 100 being arranged such that its active region 110 overlaps the active region 210 of a second of the imaging tiles 200, for enabling a portion of radiation incident to traverse a portion of the active region of the first imaging tile and to impinge on a portion of the active region of the second imaging tile. Thus, loss of information and consequent low resolution is avoided by arranging active regions to overlap.</p> |
