A customized envelope security tint design is generated based on user-sup plied information. When ordering envelopes online, a user is provided with t he option of entering characters for use as a custom security tint. A previe w image of a custom tint design is displayed to the user for review. The use r can place an order for production of envelopes having the custom design pr inted as the envelope security tint.
