PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a transmissive liquid crystal display (LCD) that can suppress vertical stripes. SOLUTION: The transmissive liquid crystal display (LCD) includes gate lines 1, data lines 2 and liquid crystal pixel electrodes 3 in a matrix disposed at positions where the gate lines and data lines intersect, and employs a system of writing video signals in parallel by a plurality of pixels in the horizontal direction. The data lines in an odd-numbered unit are disposed on the left-hand side of the liquid crystal pixel electrodes, while the data lines in an even-numbered unit are disposed on the right-hand side of the liquid crystal pixel electrodes.
