PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a device for inspecting starting abnormality, capable of inspecting the starting abnormality of a displaying device, and a method therefor. SOLUTION: The device 1 for inspecting starting abnormality, comprises a power supply box 3, a CCD camera 4, and a controller 5, and the controller 5 includes a device 53 for controlling inspection and a file 54. The device 53 for controlling inspection comprises a section for supplying inspection power; a section for picking up images; a section for evaluating starting abnormality; and a section for storing inspection information. The section for supplying inspection power sequentially changes timing for supplying power to each power line of a driving circuit 22 and then executes the start of the displaying device 2. The section for picking up inspection images sequentially picks up the images displayed on the display 21 when the displaying device 2 is started and then makes the images inspection images. The section for evaluating starting abnormality determines acceptance for each start based on the image data of the inspection images.
