PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an amorphous soft magnetic material excellent in strength and magnetic characteristics as a soft magnetic material. SOLUTION: An insulating layer is formed on the surface of a metallic glass powder 1 with at least one kind of metal selected from a group consisting of Fe, Ni and Co as a principal component and differential temperatureΔTx of 20K or higher of a supercooled liquid region expressed byΔTx=Tx-Tg (wherein, Tx represents crystalization initiation temperature and Tg represents glass transition temperature). When the soft magnetic material is solidified and formed with an amorphous phase as a main phase, the insulating layer should be composed of an inorganic powder 2, and its grain size should be of 0.2 times or less mean grain size of the metallic glass powder.
