PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly versatile auxiliary component for a sewing machine. SOLUTION: The auxiliary component 2 for the sewing machine is attached to the sewing machine 1 whose mechanism part is covered with an outer shell member 12. The component 2 is attachable to/detachable from an engagement part 3 which is previously arranged in the sewing machine 1 for the engagement of the mechanism part with the outer shell member 12.
