A method and an apparatus for channel zapping in a digital broadcasting receiver are provided to enable a user to watch instantly the broadcast program of a zapped channel when zapping a channel, and enable effective time division and improve efficiency of a frequency band. A method for channel zapping in a digital broadcasting receiver comprises the following steps of: receiving data only at time when the data of a watching channel and a zapping channel is transmitted(S430); storing the received data of the watching channel and the zapping channel and displaying the data of the watching channel(S440); and displaying the data stored in the zapping channel on a screen when a channel is zapped to the zapping channel while the watching channel data is displayed(S450-S470).
