Steering column stalk switch

The switch has a gear shift lever (1) with a magnetic signal generator (8), to which stationarily arranged magnetic field sensors for determining switching positions of the gear shift lever are attached, where the sensors are coupled with an evaluation unit. The shift lever supports a rotary switch (18), where the signal generator and the magnetic field sensors serve for determining switching positions of the rotary switch. The shift lever has a switching axis in its interior side, where the axis is connected with an operating ring (17) of the rotary switch in a torque proof manner.
