A system and a method for providing a Diff-ring service using an intelligent network are provided to enable members of a group, who use a single phone and a single destination number in common, to identify a callee only with a ringing sound by setting respectively different ringtones according to the members and providing a voice announcement for the members when an incoming call is received. A Diff-ring service system consists of a Diff-ring service provider server(1), a wire/wireless network(5), and an intelligent network(3). The Diff-ring service provider server(1) sets ringtone codes according to a plurality of members, who use a subscriber's phone in common, in order to provide a Diff-ring service to the subscriber, provides various ringtones, and executes control for supplemental services. The wire/wireless network(5) receives an incoming call to the service subscriber from a caller, and processes the incoming call. The intelligent network(3) generates an intelligent network call to the caller so that the caller can select one among the members. If the caller selects one among the members, the intelligent network(3) transmits setting information about the selected member to the subscriber's phone. |
