摘要 An electrophoretic device, its driving method, and an electronic device are provided to meet the demand for a driving technique that obtains a high contrast ratio over the structure in which an electrophoretic element and a memory circuit are combined. A latch circuit(26) has an input terminal(N1) connected with an output terminal of a switching element(21). An electrophoretic element(27) is formed such that an electrophoretic material(27c) is disposed between the first and second electrodes(27a,27b), and the first electrode(27a) is connected with an output terminal(N2) of the latch circuit(26). In order to drive an electrophoretic device, a reference potential is applied to the second electrode(27b). The switching element(21) is conducted and a data signal is applied to an input terminal of a memory circuit to allow the output terminal(N2) of the latch circuit(26) to output the reference potential or the first potential higher than the reference potential. A drive signal oscillated between the second potential higher than the first potential and the reference potential is applied to the second electrode(27b). And then, the reference potential is applied to the second electrode(27b).
