A circuit for controlling a sense amplifier is provided to improve sensing margin by preventing the increase of a pulldown level in charge distribution between a bit line and a data bus line by over-driving a sensing line of a sense amplifier with a back bias voltage level before a column selection signal is enabled after the sense amplifier is enabled. An over-driving control part over-drives a pulldown sensing line of a sense amplifier with a back bias voltage level by a pulse signal enabled when a column selection signal is enabled. A sense amplifier driving control part supplies the back bias voltage to the pulldown sensing line selectively by a sense amplifier enable signal enabled when the sense amplifier is enabled. The pulse signal is enabled earlier than the column selection signal.
