A photocurable asphalt composition is provided to prevent plastic deformation causable at high temperature, inhibit crack causable at low temperature or ambient temperature, and to ensure highly improved durability. A photocurable asphalt composition comprises asphalt and an ultraviolet hardener. The asphalt is pure asphalt, polymer-containing asphalt, or a mixture thereof. The ultraviolet hardener is a mixture comprising a short-wavelength ultraviolet hardener and a long-wavelength ultraviolet hardener in a ratio of 20:1-1:1. A method for preparing the photocurable asphalt composition includes the steps of: (1) preparing the ultraviolet hardener; (2) heating the asphalt or polymer-containing asphalt to 200 °C; and (3) adding the ultraviolet hardener mixture to the asphalt or polymer-containing asphalt heated to 200 °C.
