SECURITY APPARATUS FOR COMPUTER SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR THE SAME

A device and a method for securing a computer system from malicious use are provided to reduce inconvenience of inputting a password whenever the computer system is booted, and prevent other users from using data stored in hardware and a hard disk maliciously when a user loses the computer system. A recognizer(260) recognizes user ID information. An operator(270) calculates a result value by operating the recognized user ID information and unique ID information of the computer system. A main controller(250) performs booting depending on match between the password preset to the computer system and the calculated result value. An RFID(Radio Frequency IDentification) tag stores the user ID information. The recognizer recognizes the user ID information from the RFID tag. The unique ID information of the computer system is a serial number of the computer system and the user ID information is biometric information of the user. The recognizer includes an input unit, which receives the bio-information of a user as ID information, and a user ID information output unit which outputs the user ID information to an authorized user in case coincidence rate for both the received bio-information and the stored bio-information is larger than a certain critical value.
