A lens barrel and an image capturing apparatus are provided to prevent ghost or flare efficiently as achieving compactness. A barrel(16) is embedded with an image capturing tool. A guide axis is installed in parallel with an optical axis of the image capturing apparatus in the inside of the barrel. A lens frame moves along the guide axis in the barrel and comprises a moving lens frame supporting a lens constituting the image capturing system. A light shielding member(66) covering the plane where the guide axis contacts with the optical axis is formed along the guide axis, on the wall of the barrel supporting the guide axis.
