A device for editing a document and a storage medium thereof are provided to create a document including objects arranged in a beautiful and well-balanced layout even if a volume of input objects varies. An object obtainer(101) obtains the objects including data representing text. An aspect ratio storing part(107) stores an aspect ratio of a predetermined range including a golden ratio. An object editor(104) edits the objects by changing layout of the text to get a circumscribed rectangle of the text to be the rectangle that a ratio between two neighboring sides has the aspect ratio stored in the aspect ratio storing part. An object attribute obtainer(102) obtains object attribute information of the obtained object from an object attribute storing part(106) storing the object attribute information representing a font size and spacing of the text included in each object. The size of the rectangle is determined based on the number of characters and the obtained object attribute information.
