A side member of a vehicle subframe is provided to prevent a driver leg from being hurt by minimizing pushed amount of a lower end of a dash panel by inducing downward drop of an engine due to buckling. A side member of a vehicle subframe including a front member and a rear member, which is formed by enabling side members to be respectively connected with the front member and the rear member, comprises: a front panel formed by connecting an upper front panel with a lower front panel, a rear panel(21) formed by connecting an upper rear panel(23) with a lower rear panel(25), and a crash zone member(31) connecting the front and rear panels to each other. The crash zone member is formed in a square shape, which includes a plurality of beads(33). In addition, the crash zone member is made of aluminum for absorbing shock. An engine mounting insert pipe(41) is fixedly mounted to one side of the lower rear panel of the rear panel and an engine mounting bracket(43) connected with the engine mounting insert pipe is fixedly mounted to an outer side of the upper rear panel.
