METHOD FOR CONTROLLING LIMP-HOME MODE IN A VEHICLE WITH ELECTRIC THROTTLE CONTROL SYSTEM

A method of controlling a vehicle is provided to drive the vehicle based on the severity of the electronic system trouble classified into a moderate trouble for allowing relatively longer drive or a severe trouble for allowing shorter drive to pull over the vehicle on a shoulder of a road. A control method when limp home mode is characterized by invoking limp home mode depending on a result of operational mode diagnosis on electric throttle control system such as limit performance fault or power manage fault. The control method gives a priority to drivability rather than safety for driving the vehicle with a torque map similar to normal operational mode when the system is diagnosed as limit performance fault while giving a priority to safety rather than drivability for driving the vehicle with a half reduced torque map when the system is diagnosed as dual path fault(S27) including limited performance fault as well as power manage fault(S15).
