A light scattering body, a method for preparing the light scattering body, and its use as a coating for a light emitting unit are provided to improve dimensional stability, mechanical properties and anisotropic light scattering. A light scattering body comprises a transparent polymer; and glass fiber in a ratio of 1:5 to 1:500 by weight. Preferably the transparent polymer comprises polymethyl methacrylate, polycarbonate, polyester or polyolefin. The light scattering body is prepared by mixing inorganic glass fiber and a polymer in a ratio of 1:10 to 1:10,000 by weight; and extruding the obtained mixture. Preferably the difference of a refractive index between the polymer and the glass fiber is 0.01 or more.
