A vehicle tire having improved noise shielding performance is provided to reduce noise by varying the frequency of noise generated from blocks formed at a side rib provided at a lateral side of a tread. A vehicle tire having improved noise shielding performance comprises a tread, a sidewall, a bead section and longitudinal grooves(1,2,3). The longitudinal grooves(1,2,3) are formed in the traveling direction at two opposite sides of the center line. The tread is divided into a center rib(10), an eccentric center rib(20) and a side rib(30). The ribs(10,20,30) are divided into a plurality of blocks by a plurality of transverse grooves, respectively. The transverse groove comprises wide grooves(5,6) having a wide width and narrow grooves(51,61) having a narrow width. The ribs(20,30) are divided into blocks by the wide grooves(5,6), respectively. The blocks are divided by the narrow grooves(51,61), respectively.
