An iron-based sintered alloy valve seat material for an internal combustion engine is provided to facilitate stable fabrication of a valve seat having superior strength and abrasion resistance. An iron-based sintered alloy valve seat material for an internal combustion engine comprises a matrix composition and a hard particle. The matrix composition contains C of 0.3 to 1.5 weight %, one or two of 1 to 20 weight % selected from the group containing of Ni, Co, Mo, Cr and V, Fe and inevitable impurities. The hard particle contains Si of 1 to 15 weight %, Mo of 20 to 60 weight %, one or two of 10 to 70 weight % selected from the group containing of Cr, Ni, Co and Fe, and inevitable impurities. The hard particle has a Vickers hardness of 500HV0.1 to 1200HV0.1. The iron-based sintered alloy valve seat material has density of more than 6.7g/cm^3 and radial crushing strength of more than 350MPa. |
