A method of controlling fuel injection of a hybrid electric vehicle is provided to improve fuel economy and to reduce harmful emissions created before catalyst reaches effective operational temperature by controlling fuel to air mixture as lean condition. A method of controlling fuel injection of a hybrid electric vehicle includes a step of deciding whether all requirements for activating lean control are satisfied when a tip-in event is made by a driver with operating accelerator pedal after start-up of an engine, and a step of controlling air-fuel mixture as lean condition by injecting desired amount of fuel during a desired time after calculating amount of fuel to be controlled at the time of initial tip-in event by taking correction factor for lean fuel to air mixture. |
