A method of fabricating a liquid crystal orientation layer using a printing method is provided to improve the properties such as a liquid crystal order parameter, an azimuthal anchoring energy, or pretilt angle by solving electro-static and chemical defects of a conventional rubbing method. A metal mold having a minute structure of a predetermine shape is placed on a substrate(2) where an orientation layer material is formed, and then heat or pressure is applied to the substrate. At least one selected from the group consisting of polyimide, polyamide acid, polyimide siloxane, polyamide-imide based organic polymer is dissolved in an organic solvent and applied on the substrate as the orientation layer material. The organic polymer has the concentration from 5 weight % to 90 weight % for an entire weight. |
