A TOOL EXISTENCE SENSING DEVICE OF A MACHINING CENTER

A detection device for detecting presence of a tool in a machining center of a main shaft is provided to accurately detect presence of the tool without installing a complex and bulky detection device by installing an infrared ray sensor or a RGB(Red, Green, Blue) sensor on a back of a piston. A detection device for detecting the presence of a tool in a machining center of a main shaft has an infrared ray sensor(104) installed on a rear part of a piston(100).The infrared ray sensor has a light receiving part(102) and a light emitting part(103). The infrared ray sensor detects whether a tool is present on the main shaft or not by detecting the temperature, pressure, and the intensity of radiation of the tool if the tool is present. The infrared ray sensor is operates only when a tool is present. A RGB sensor can also be installed on the back of the piston for detecting the presence of a tool through detecting the color of the tool.
