摘要 A transflective LCD and a fabrication method thereof are provided to prevent the phenomenon of light leakage caused by a stepped portion between a transmissive part and a reflective part in transflective dual gap structure by adding a light blocking metal to the stepped portion. A gate line and a data line are formed on a first substrate 110 and intersect each other. A thin film transistor is connected to the gate and data lines. A transparent electrode is placed at a pixel area defined by the gate line and the data line. A uneven reflective plate(124) is placed corresponding to the transparent electrode of the pixel area and has a groove transmitting light to its central area. A light blocking metal corresponds to an edge of the groove, and is formed on the same layer as the gate line to block transmission of light. A second substrate(130) is bonded with the first substrate at a predetermined interval. The second substrate includes a black matrix separated at a predetermined interval, a color filter(133a) formed in the black matrix, an overcoat layer(134) formed on the color filter, and a common electrode(135) formed on the overcoat layer.
