The invention relates to the use of N-benzazepine derivatives of acetic acid of formula (I) or a physiologically compatible salts thereof for the manufacture of pharmaceutical preparations for prophylaxis and/or treatment of the damage to the heart induced by the administration of cardio toxic doses of cytostatic antibiotics selected from anthracyclines and mitoxantrone. Also described are combined preparations for application in cytostatic therapy, which comprise a compound of formula (I) and a cytostatic antibiotic selected from anthracyclines and mitoxantrone.
