A refrigerator is provided to prevent release of supercooled state of the liquid by confining movement of the supercooled liquid and revert to the supercooling state for liquid if the supercooling state is released. A refrigerator(500) comprises a storage chamber(510), a door(520), a water tank(560), a sensor(580), a heater(560a), an energy generator(570), a case, and a confining member. The storage chamber supplies chilled air. The door opens and closes the storage chamber. The water tank is disposed on the door side, accommodating supercooled liquid. The sensor senses phase change of the supercooled liquid. The heater, interlocked with the sensor, supplies heat to the tank. Thus the release of supercooling state can be sensed by the sensor, and recovered by the heater. The energy generator, such as an electrode, provides energy to the supercooled liquid to keep its state supercooled. The case, which is mounted on the door and receives the tank, comprises at least one of the heater, sensor, or the electrode which provides energy to the supercooled liquid. The confining member provided on the tank, confines movement of the supercooled liquid, so as to prevent release of supercooling state due to external impact or opening and closing of the door. |
