A shock absorbing device is provided to absorb the energy from collision and to reduce the human damage by discharging some air from the vent grooves connected with the air pockets. A shock absorbing device(80) is made of rubber. The device has air pockets where air is stored, a plurality of unit cells(10) having vent grooves to discharge some air stored in the air pockets when collision occurs, and an upper housing containing shock absorbing projections to protect the surfaces on which the air pockets are formed. The shock absorbing device has a front surface on which the air pockets are formed. The front surface is coated. A lower housing is combined with the upper housing and formed with a receiving part for receiving the air pockets. The unit cells are formed with vent grooves formed at the receiving parts.
