An apparatus for providing a location-based ring back tone is provided to enable a receiving subscriber to inform a calling terminal of a calling terminal's location before the receiving terminal responds to a call to connect the call by providing the calling terminal with a preset ring back tone according to a location of the calling terminal. While a calling terminal requests call connection to a receiving terminal, a unit identifies the calling terminal and the receiving terminal and confirms whether a ring back tone that a receiving terminal subscriber has set in accordance with a location of the calling terminal is stored. If so, a unit provides the calling terminal with the ring back tone preset in accordance with the location of the calling terminal.
