An adjustable infusion catheter (600) includes a flexible tube (602) containing one or more axial lumens (120) that allows fluid to flow from the proximal end of the catheter (600) to the distal end. A syringe (608) or infusion pump (700) is the usual pressure source for fluid at the proximal end. A plurality of small-diameter holes (160) are provided in a fenestrated area (165) near the distal end of the tube (602) to disperse fluid throughout a targeted region (800) within the patient's body. The length of the fenestrated area (165) of the catheter body (100) is adjusted by a slidable sheath (200) which can be positioned along the length of the fenestrated area (165) so that its exposed length substantially matches the targeted region (800). The ends of the slidable sheath (200) include a seal portion (167) to prevent leakage around the ends of the sheath (200). Heat shrinkable plastic material can be used to form the sheath (200) and the end seals.
