A mechanical golf counter is provided to send each unit to a modifying position for displaying, reading, and correcting scores, by movably installing score counting units in a case. In a mechanical golf counter equipped with a golf counter mechanism, the golf counter mechanism is composed of: plural first units indicating scores in each hole and counting the scores related to plural holes; plural second units(76) cooperating with the first units and storing display of the score for each hole; a third unit(88) changing the displayed score of the selected hole and cooperating with the first unit; a fourth unit(90) reading the score of the selected hole and cooperating with the first unit; and a fifth unit(104) displaying the score of the selected hole and cooperating with the fourth unit. One of plural units occupies an incrementing/read position of the determined score by movably installing the first units in a case. The unit is selected to cooperate with the third and fourth units.
