A terminal device having a ring back tone replacement function is provided to enable a receiving subscriber to enable an output unit to replace a ring back tone or a mechanical tone, received while call connection is requested to a receiving terminal, by a ring back tone included in ring back tone setup information pre-stored in a memory area and output the replaced ring back tone, thereby informing a calling terminal of a receiving terminal's location before the receiving terminal responds to a call and the call is connected. A memory area(or an IC(Integrated Circuit) chip area)(115) stores location-based ring back tone setup information corresponding to location change of a receiving terminal(160) set by a receiving terminal subscriber. If call connection is requested to the receiving terminal, an output unit(120) replaces a ring back tone or a mechanical tone, received while the call connection request is received in the receiving terminal, by a ring back tone included in the ring back tone setup information stored in the memory area in accordance with location information of the receiving terminal.
