A DRM(Digital Rights Management) method and a system thereof using frequency limitation are provided to set the frequency of DRM contents protected according to encoding such that parents restricts the frequency of DRM contents used by children. A DRM method includes a step of setting a frequency of DRM contents, a step of receiving the DRM contents and a rights object of the DRM contents, which includes information corresponding to the frequency(S220), and a step of allowing the DRM contents to be used only under the condition satisfying the frequency according to the rights object.
