A biometrics authentication method and a biometrics authentication system are provided to prevent mis-authentication and improve authentication accuracy without increasing an authentication time. A biometrics authentication system includes a sensor(1), a database file(40), and a control unit. The sensor senses a body part corresponding to the object of authentication and outputs biometric data representing biometric characteristic of the body part. The database file stores at least two different biometric data sets for each of a plurality of users, which are sensed by the sensor. When a user is authenticated, the control unit compares biometric data sensed by the sensor with biometric data stored in the database file and identifies the user when the comparison result is satisfactory.
