A backlight assembly and an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) device having the same are provided to enable both sides of a reflection plate to be extendedly disposed between a bottom cover and optical sheets, so as to prevent a generation of a foreign substance fundamentally by preventing a direct contact between the bottom cover and the optical sheets. A backlight assembly comprises optical sheets(130), a bottom cover(180), a reflection plate(170), and a second stopper(151'). The bottom cover has a protrudedly formed first stopper(151) for preventing a flow of the optical sheets. The reflection plate is disposed on the bottom cover and is composed of a mold object. The second stopper is extended to a side of the first stopper of the bottom cover in both sides of the reflection plate.
