A messaging method of a mobile communication terminal is provided to transceiver various types of messages by using the same protocol, while a user can view even messages which are not stored in the terminal itself. A mobile communication terminal(200) accesses to and is registered in an external server(100). The terminal(200) writes user presence information in the external server(100), and receives subscriber information which includes names of subscribers from the external server(100). The terminal(200) selects a subscriber by using the subscriber information, and selects a type of a messaging service. The terminal(200) accesses the selected subscriber through the external server(100), and performs the selected messaging service with the accessing subscriber.
