A device for preventing laundries from being lodged in a space between a tub and a drum in a front-loading washing machine is provided to push a glass of a door over the space between the tub and the drum by installing a compressing panel between the glass and a frame of the door, and a solenoid which extends a rod to push the compressing panel in response to a signal from a control unit, thereby containing the laundries within the drum during wash cycle. A device for preventing laundries from being lodged in a spaced between a door(20) and a tub(12) and a drum(14) has a projection part(30). The projection part includes plural protrusions(32), a compressing panel(34), compressing parts(36), and a rotary unit. The protrusions are disposed at regular intervals on one end of a glass(24) of the door. The compressing panel is rotated between the glass and a frame(22). The compressing parts are projected on the compressing panel between the protrusions. The rotary unit is installed between the compressing panel and the frame, and includes a fixing unit, a solenoid, and a control unit. The fixing unit is protruded on one side of an outer end of the compressing panel. The solenoid is connected to the fixing unit and is fixed to the frame. The control unit projects a rod from the solenoid and rotates the compressing panel as the washing machine is operated. A pair of cylindrical guides, which correspond to the outer and the inner ends of the compressing panel, is disposed on the frame. Plural sliding stoppers(22a) are disposed at portions of the guide corresponding to the end parts of the glass. Recesses are disposed on the end parts of the glass corresponding to the sliding stoppers. |
